Philipp Reinhard is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker with a passion for documentary, portrait, and campaign work. His focus is always on the people at the heart of sports.

 

“Intense, close, honest.” These are the words editor-in-chief and journalist Benjamin Lorenz uses to describe the work of the internationally active photographer. His images capture extraordinary, fleeting moments that might otherwise go unnoticed.

 

As team photographer for the German national soccer team, HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim, and Team D (German Olympic Sports Confederation), his images tell stories, convey emotion, and offer intimate insights. For his documentary work, he immerses himself in the action. Always close, ready to capture the decisive moments.

At his third Olympic Games, he received the “Sports Photo of the Year” award in the “Paris 2024” category. He has accompanied the German national soccer team at two World Cups and two European Championships. Alongside his photography, he also produces films. As a director of photography, he has worked on the documentary “The Wagner Brothers” and numerous documentaries about Dirk Nowitzki.

 

He recharges by skateboarding, surfing, and playing basketball. He also enjoys listening to vinyl, driving classic cars, and having a good espresso.
